Sri Ramachandra Medical College – Chennai

The Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, which is now known as the Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed to be University), was founded by the Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust in the year 1985 as a private not-for-profit self-financing institution and dedicated to serving the society as a centre of excellence with a focus on medical research.

Under the direction of the Late Shri. N.P.V. Ramasamy Udayar, the Trust successfully established the Institution as a "Centre of Excellence," and he also served as the Deemed University's first Chancellor. At the moment, Shri.V.R.Venkataachalam serves as both the Managing Trustee of the Trust and the Chancellor of the Deemed University. The Pro Chancellor of the Deemed University is Shri R.V. Sengutuvan.
